History of information technology in Nepal is not very older. Nepali information technology is 10 year old.

In earlier life of Nepali IT is very costly and limiting service. IT provider is only limiting in figure.IT is only form rich people not for poor and medium level  people in Nepal. But now days Nepali IT sector is rapidly growing every year.IT service now days every person using every day. In these days Nepali it sector is rapidly growing every day because of internet service provider(ISP) provide IT service much cheaper then earlier year of IT service. IT service price is rapidly decreasing every day that cause IT is more cheaper than past year. Nepal have four major ISP and other many local ISP and many IT users.Nepal joined the world of the internet during the mid's 90's, using it initially for email only. At that time the cost of e-mail only. at that time the cost of e-mail was Rs 20 per KB, which was too high by Nepalese standards. initially there were about 150 e-mail users.over the years the costs of internet usage have fallen dramatically to rs 2 per KB and consequently the number of email users has sharply increased. there are no official figures available for the present number of users but according to computer association Nepal, there are about 5000 internet users in Nepal.
